Why dont you post up some photos of your equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
This better not be some kind of bullshit "Ball Hone" deal....

Go through the motions to get a pic on that addy.

Click on the pic and click it again to get it larger.

use [ img ] at the beggining, and [ /img ] at the end, no spaces in the brackets, or inside the brackets
if you have a photobucket account they make it easy to copy the format for sharing each photo, and pasting into the thread

What do you use for honing oil??
Posted: December 27th, 2010, 12:00 am
by blownbillybob
The torque plate is one piece steel the line you see is my locating register for when I mount it in the lathe to machine the bottom of the cyl. It just makes it easier and faster to dial in the bottom
For honig oil I use general honing mineral oil with sunnen MAN-C concentrate additive

finish hone with 400 grit
finish hone with 400 grit and plateau
finish hone with 400 grit
finish hone with 400 grit and plateau
notice how the plateau finishes are alot more shinier then the standard finish.
if you drag your finger nail down the standard finish it feels rough and grabs your nail on the plateau finish its like sliding your nail across a piece of glass you would think the rings wouldnt seat but they do this is what a brush plateau finish should look and feel like!!!!
heres one of my exhaust ports
the center bridge looks crooked as fuk in the pics but is really pretty strait
