So I call eriC and ask him if he's riding his scooter..... his reply? " Nag-a-tory"

So I call him a fag and hang up.

Al calls me to see what time were meeting, and he agrees eriC is a homo, but he says he's driving his truck because its too far to bring his bike ( its about 25 miles, much of it on the freeway) thats understandable.

EriC calls back a short time later to state he found his ballz in his sock drawer and will be bringing is bike after all.... so off we all go.

We all show up on our bikes and are wating around in the parking lot goofing on all the KTM guys, and who shows up... Al, on his XR600!!!

SWEET!!!

So we go into the meeting and eat some pizza and discuss the ride. Afer about an hour, we have no answers and even more questions. The meeting breaks up with the understanding that we will first travel West to East, then we will go East to West.

The only person to make any sort of headway was Pecker who made hotel resevations for us all. I think its eriC and I in one room, Pecker and Garrett in another, and Al wants his own to watch cable hotel asain porn all night. Rob129 would be his obvious roomate, but his not coming on this ride.

So, Tues morning will be quite interesting.... I'm bringing a spoke wrench and some beef jerky.

Huh, more questions than answers? What else do you want to know Bob? I thought the plan was laid out and clear, we will to the campground and then head north and if the dry lake is a lake then we will detour. If you have any other questions let me know and we will get them hammered put now. When I get home I will post up the itinerary.

Good seeing and meeting everyone!

Below is the info from the emails, sorry if you were missed on the mass mailings.

Trip general info:

- Distance:
o This is roughly a 140 ride and estimated 5hr trip (with fuel and rest stops)
o Staging will be done at the Afton Canyon Campground off of Afton Rd 38 miles outside of Barstow off I-15
o There will be a chase truck and 2 pit stops along the trail
o Pit Stops:
1. Pit 1 @ Ride mile 40
2. Pit 2 @ Ride mile 65

- Time:
o Leave Tuesday December 28th @ 5am from OC
o Meet at Afton Canyon Campground by 8am (we will be getting campsites to leave the trucks in, so be on time so we can get this done and onto the trail)
o Hit the trail by 9am
o Stay at the Avi Casino the night of the 28th
o Wake up at 7am, eat and prep the bikes/truck
o Hit the trail for the return trip by 9am

- Navigation: I have the trail in my GPS that I will have mounted on my bike. I have also talked to other people who have done it before and they say that the trail is marked very well and a GPS is not even needed. I can email the trail that I have to others if you have a GPS too.
- Necessities: You should carry at least 100 miles worth of fuel for your bike. (just to be safe)
- Food/drinks: Bring food and drinks to throw in your packs and the chase truck to drink along the way.
- Lodging: We will be staying at the Avi Casino and the rooms are $21. Call 1800-284-2946 for reservations.

Who's driving?

Who is staying in Barstow the night before?

Who's bunking with who?

Wheres the buffet in Laughin?

Where can I get a real message in Laughin?

Who's disposing of the dead hookers?

Is there a Jager dispenser in our hotel room?

On the return leg, where are eriC and I gtting into the chase vehicle?

Should we buy extra life insurance for this ride?

Ya know, those kind of questions....

Update

We will be meeting up at the Del Taco parking lot off of the Lenwood exit at 8am sharp and then heading over to Brit's house to stage. We will be adding 38 miles to the ride but most of it will be fast powerline/frontage roads next to the I-15.

Looks like between 40 and 80% chance of rain for Wed. (has changed 3 times on weather.com today) If it is raining hard the sole chase truck will be full. I would suggest that you guys get another chase truck together so the whole cr500 crew doesn't have to ride back in the rain/snow. I know Solid is working on something but I don't think 1 additional truck will be enough. Just a suggestion to start forming small groups and asking buddies with the day off to come party it up/chase. :)

Drive safe and see everyone bright and early!!

Can't stay another night. gota work.
How about a loop I know some good ones, no need for the chase truck, and you can be home before the rain.

I posted 2 videos of day 2 0f the Desert Dash. I have the tracks to this ride in my GPS. its a 130 mile loop with gas stops at the Blue Inn, and one at Ocatillo-Plaster City.
We can Stage at Butterfield Ranch, or Julian, or Banner Store.

We can do Avi Casino when you guys are less GREEN, and with better weather.

As the transportation for this ride seems SNAFU-ed anyways, I think that is an excelent idea Craig.

I'm out for the Mojave Trail ride.

If you know the loop and we can get it done in one day, before the rain, I'm cool with that.
We can still meet at 8 am at new location, let's get everyone up to speed on this changes, I don't see any particolar reason why it wouldn't benefit us all.

Let's go ride and have a good time
Al
