the stupid part is that they are going to start blaming it on guns and insist on more gun control, when that 14 year old didn't get it legally anyway!!! If it wasn't a gun, it would have been a knife.
I blame parents a society for these situations. In a time when its illegal to spank your kids and its worse to see a boob on tv than a guys brains getting blown out, things like this start happening.
If my kid acts up, he gets a spanking, if he wants to go on a shooting rampage, I will know and do something about it. I may sound a bit too far to the right, but I think un-married couples and single poverty sticken moms working 3 jobs is part of it. They even state that school is for students below the poverty line.
Its fucked...I especially like how of 3 security guards, there were none, 1 on vacation and 2 laid-off...brilliant

Good call Bob. I'll tell you what, those vids and video games are SO popular. They come out with a nice skateboard or motocross video game, and they are fun as hell, but compared to the multitudes of followers a killing game creates, they are nothing. It's just a situation where the kids these days are influenced by what is available. When I was young, a dash dot dash football game would keep kids glued for weeks, nowadays it's extreme blood death and destruction, and a new one comes out every time you turn around. Funny thing about reality though, try going and watching a standard day of court in LA. You will see young men get sentenced to life in prison, and go from a little hard faced toughy to a blubbering crying baby in a nano second after hearing their sentencing. I knew a DA in a LA suburb that sent shaved head gang bangers away daily, and it's always the same thing. The kid pulls some kind of criminal act, gets the adult treatment, gets sentenced, and it's next person inline. I feel good knowing there are good hard working parents in the world that still bring up families like for instance Jay, whos sons are awsome young men that stay strong and avoid the pitfalls of drugs, gangs, peer pressure etc.. And that's not to suggest that everything is perfect for families like his, but they are a far cry from the creeps that can be seen running amuck around parts of LA where I grew up.
Don't Clyde it, ride it!

remember when we were kids, you solved problem with a old fashion fist fight. Now days almost all 12 year olds and up are carring atleast a blade.
Yup fisticuffs was the way to roll, at least with a blade it takes a lot more guts to hurt someone than standing 100ft away and pulling a trigger.

From CNN:
"Asa Coon, wearing a Marilyn Manson shirt, black jeans and black nail polish, opened fire with two revolvers on Wednesday, wounding two students and two teachers at SuccessTech Academy in downtown Cleveland. Coon, 14, had a history of mental problems and was known for cursing at teachers and bickering with students.
A classmate said Thursday that he and others had warned their principal about threats by Asa Coon and said the attack could have been prevented.
The student, Rasheem Smith, said on CBS' "Early Show" that despite their warnings, principal Johneita Durant told them she was too busy.
"I told my friends in the class that he had a gun and stuff," said Smith, 15. "He was talking about doing it last week. I don't know why they didn't say nothing.
"We talked to the principal. She would try to get us all in the office, but it would always be too busy for it to happen," Smith said."
The parents of the dead should sue like crazy, and Johneita Durant should be in the slammer.

In the 5th grade I took a swiss arm knife to school, not to use as a weapon (it would make a terrible weapon anyway) but just to show it to my friends (it was awesome and had all the options). I got all but expelled, one kid heard about my knife and they escorted me out of class, the cops were there and everything!
People KNEW this kid had a gun and wanted to use it, but were too busy?????
absolutely bull shit!!!

Mom charged with buying Pa. teen weapons
By MARYCLAIRE DALE, Associated Press Writer 38 minutes ago
NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The mother of a 14-year-old who authorities say had a cache of guns, knives and explosive devices in his bedroom for a possible school attack was charged Friday with buying her son three more weapons.
Michele Cossey bought her home-schooled son a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9 mm semiautomatic rifle, authorities said. The teenager felt bullied and tried to recruit another boy for a possible attack at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, authorities said.
"This is not the best parenting I've ever seen and she needs to be held accountable," Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce L. Castor Jr. said.
Acting on a tip from a high school student and his father, police on Wednesday found the rifle, about 30 air-powered guns, swords, knives, a bomb-making book, videos of the 1999 Columbine attack in Colorado and violence-filled notebooks in the boy's bedroom, Castor said.
Cossey, 46, of Plymouth Meeting, bought the rifle, which had a laser scope, at a gun show on Sept. 23 and provided police with a receipt, investigators said in court papers. The teenager said the two .22-caliber weapons were stored at a friend's house.
The boy's father also tried to buy his son a rifle in 2005, but was not allowed to because he was a felon, police said.
The teen had a brief court appearance Friday at which the county public defender's office and prosecutors agreed to continue holding him while they do psychiatric evaluations.
The boy was led out of the courtroom in shackles and he didn't comment.
His mother was charged with unlawful transfer of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a minor, corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of reckless endangerment. She was not accused of helping the teen plot an attack, "but by virtue of her indulgence, she enabled him to get in this position," Castor said.
Castor has said he does not believe and attack was imminent or would occur at all. He said Friday that the teen had a "disturbed mind."
"This was a smart kid that clearly believes he was picked on and was a victim," Castor said. "He had psychological issues and began to act out on those feelings."
The teen's father, Frank Cossey, was sentenced to house arrest for lying about his criminal record when he went to buy a .22-caliber rifle for his son in December 2005, police said Friday. On his application he said he had never been convicted of a felony, but he had pleaded guilty in 1981 to manslaughter in a drunken driving death in Oklahoma and sent to prison, police said.
Police, who searched home with the permission of the teen's parents, also discovered seven explosive devices Castor has described as homemade grenades: plastic containers filled with pellets to which gunpowder could be added. Authorities said one grenade was operable and the others had been in the process of being assembled.
The search did not turn up any ammunition for the most dangerous firearm in the bunch, the assault rifle.
The teen previously attended middle school in the district but had been taught at home for more than a year after voluntarily leaving school, Castor said.
The arrest came the same day a 14-year-old in Ohio opened fire at his Cleveland high school, wounding four before killing himself.
