Thank you Gregrobo!! You sound sure about this. I have been scratching up every thread on beercans both here and overthere, cant find much info on the 00-01 125's. It needs quite a few components that are year specific. Thanks to all for the help.

or if it was a cali bike they may have re stamped it trying to get a green sticker, which cut off at 97 before it went to 02...... i had a 99 CR250 in 2000 that was a red sticker bike here in cali..... then they changed the dmv laws again andgrandfathered them in up to 02 ........blah blah.... im just saying if it is a later model, that may be the reason somebody tried to make it seem "older"....... if it wasnt from cali then i would have no idea why they'd do that...... either way, if the number is clear, tell em whatever you want for the year and they'll give you a title for it...... majeday........!

By the way, thanks for all and any help. Me thinks its a 00-01[/b]
Looks like a garage stamp job to me, not straight at all. Kinda hard to tell in the pic but does it look like the old vin got ground off? If i was at all suspicious of a frame I was gonna throw $$$ and a nice 500 at I'd chuck it. Not sure where you live but here in socal the LEO's have really been cracking down lately on registration.

I would say someone restamped that number, it doesn't look very straight or even and some digits look deeper than others.
Shit attempt at stamping a number thats for sure.

It was really hard to get a good pic of the numbers. They are very uniform as far as depth goes , but not very centered on the "pad". Oh well, appears to be a 00-01 , I find out if there were any differences between these two years, and all will be good. Thanks for all the help!

Regardless of the number, you still have BEERCAN.
Wether you choose to use it or another frame is up to you.
Cheers and happy building.
