Howdy from Texas!
Howdy from Texas!
I've been riding motorcycles, off and on road, for the last 40+ years. Did some amateur MX racing around Texas in the late '80s and early '90s on my '87 CR500R. Currently, I have 7 bikes. A '01 Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classsic, '01 XR400R, '06 XR650L, '06 XR650R, '87 CR500R, 01 CR500R, and an '01 CR500R engine in an '02 CRF450R frame (from MPS). I on't race anymore but still try to get out to the MX track once or twice a month and occasionally get out to the Sam Houston National Forest or Cherokee Cycle Park for some single track riding. I work for a computer storage and software manufacturer doing wide area network link testing and travel around the US weekly to customer sites. Not married and no kids; kinda hard to have either with the amount of travel I do.
I really like the idea of this site because the other site has gotten too far off track and seems to have turned into the Service Honda site where, if you don't bow and pray to AJ, you are thought of as a heathen and treated like something below pond scum.

When AJ posted pictures of his KX500AF, I posted pictures of a KX500AF made by MPS (the guy who did my CR500AF conversion) and they deleted my post. Later in a seperate discussion about KX500AF's, I tried posting the pictures again - not advertising, but trying to show there are others doing it and they deleted that post saying they though they had done this before. As in, we don't recognize any one else's work and will not tolerate it being posted. Sounds fairly chicken stuff to me. I also have a BIG issue of anyone claiming a trademark on "AF" if it's not registered. I'd be willing to bet it would be refused if anyone tried to register it. Sorry for venting; I feel better now.
Thanks, I wasn't sure if I could get away with "shit" or not - cool.AlisoBob wrote:The word is "Chicken Shit".. and yes..it is.jbird_710 wrote: Sounds fairly chicken stuff to me.
When you say "They" do you mean V/H?
Post those photo's up here.... I'd be interested in seeign a KX /Af conversion...
v/h and r/j
Will post the photos when I get home - don't have them on the company laptop.
Thanks again for the great site!
