Aluminum Sleeved, Nikasil Plated Cylinders

Post by Roostius_Maximus »

I've been backed up with everything the last few months. 2strokeforevers cylinder is out at plating and theres work done in it I won't be posting pictures of . This one is for inventory if guys come looking for one. Its sitting at basically stock porting right now and i'd tailor it to how the guy wants it before sending it to be plated. The surfaces were cut to clean making the cylinder .002" shorter than stock.

sweet, any ETA? i havent rode a real bike for almost 3 weeks

whats it gonna cost to replate if (when  ) i run dirt thru it?

what piston will i be running? im thinking maybe oem (534 grams total) cause its lighter than a vertex (547 grams total)
unless wossner got their act together
what clearance are you hoping for?
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

Do you feel any difference one the bike? I know that motor weight seems to have a big effect.

Not sure, the last one we did I didn't run it back to back. I'll also have them on a short stroke crank that's lighter and 447cc. Should be an excelent combo.

I like the idea of smaller displacement. Still think going more square bore and stroke would make a very good combo.

I had thought of doing that years ago, glad to see you doing it. The one thing I wanted to do was make a sleeve with a bridge intake . A bit more support back there would in my opinion double a pistons useful life.
