Lt500r quadzilla engine conversion

Post by Polishhammer »

I've been searching and have not found very much information on using this engine in a mx bike frame. The engine I have appears to have somewhat low hrs. Case is cracked but will be repaired. I'd like to put it in a 04-06 rmz250 steel frame. I think it's 4130 chromoly. I'll probably fit up a cr500 exhaust.
The questionable area appears to be the counter shaft sprocket to swingarm offset. My 13 Honda looks like it's around 40mm. Rm250 2 t is 35mm, and 07 kx450f is around 35mm. Does anyone know what other bikes have a larger offset? I don't know what the steel rmz/kxf frame is. I'll try to upload a pic of my lt500r measurement of approx 60mm.
The engine will make plenty of power as the cylinder will be sent off to Terry varner. I'm just concerned about the swingarm to counter shaft distance[/url][/i]
