anyone have ohlins ttx forks on a af? easy to tune? will you share your specs? or sell for a reasonable price...
found a set for relatively cheap and im really thinking about getting them
rode a yfz 450 with them and it floated, but maybe its all tuning?

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

actually they are inserts you put in a stock fork tube, replaces the entire internal assembly. I had them on my AF for a year or so, put them in a set of 08 CRF250f forks. They work good but it is critical that you shim them internally to get the correct front sag setting. If you get it wrong or don't do it at all they are still good but not worth the money. I ended up putting them on my 95 CR250 steelie and they go great with the NOS Ohlins shock I got off ebay for it.

Yes the bike has been set up for EFI. It was to be finished by Big Red, circumstances.... money and a move to Aussie put the bike on hold.
I catch up with him and he still intends to install it..... I am waiting.
Hell of alot of bike to sit in the garage though.
The motor has had alot of money spent on it and I intend to put it in my road legal SM.

man those motards look cool bet they are a handfull
The 2011 motor has been built to make it more user friendly, with input from rss396 the ports were raised and head work to raise the compression a little to make up for the loss of compression from the port work.
It does'nt have as much compression as a standard motor, I love the motor, it has a soft nice bottom end. You can get on the power real early in the corners , the mid is nice and strong with over rev at the top.
I've run it in the 07 and I can ride it all day...... it takes away all the uncertainity when it they go on the pipe.
I read all the info on other SM builds, they all built monsters only to sell them later, real happy the way the motor runs, not the fastest motor out there, it won't blow everything away down the straight....... it will blow every thing away on the corners........ and I love corners.
