Converting a CA. plated Steelie and keeping it plated.

Post by Hammer »

I have a 91 Steelie that is plated in Ca.
Is there a way to convert it to an AF. and keep the plate?

I would think no because the plate follows the frame and the motor......

1. Buy a "replacement" A/F frame so you have the proper paper trail... They come blank. Then stamp the A/F frame with the steelie serial number.

2. Find a plated CRF250X or CRF450X , Then do a conversion on it.

A new frame costs 2,000.00
I was wondering if a RE stamp was possible.

I paid around $800 for a brand new 2011 CRF 250R frame last year.
