Patience grasshoppa. It's only been 1 day. If a week goes by with no response, then get more vocal.Toms500r wrote:I take it nobody has info on this subject...This is my second post I have put on here with no responce!!!

I recently put a 98 CR250 ignition on mine.
I don't have a rectifier, but I'm using a different carb.
Runs tits.

Mine is straight up and works well.
I plan to try it advanced, but haven't gotten around to it.

I got rectifer/reg bits finaly.
Did a bit of sizing up and ended up slipping the '98 ignition module in where the '01 module had sat.
I put a few runs of cushion type tape around it to reduce vibration.
It sits snug between the rads.
No wiring mods req.
Set stator to full advance (only had to grind the rear of the stator)
Fitted a '98 cr250 coil just to be safe.
Replaced spark plug with a br8eg.
It fired up second kick (it always did anyway).
Sounded a little tamer/smoother at idle, not quite that real hard Bink! Bink!
But a more confident idle.
Take off was also smoother ramping up to a stronger mid range...
and by then I was at the end of the street!
Stopped to chat to a neighbour (he has just bought a 1098 Ducati
Gave it the standard big full kick to restart and it did but it seemed like it would have started with a small kick anyway. photos to follow

Keep it real, Keep it steel.
Mockup of fitting.
I made up a plate to make the coil fit .By using the smaller '98 250 coil I could mount the rec/reg assy in the small space left over.
Fitted position with heat tape on module and cushioning on rectifier.
Left side view
Right side view
I put small 2mm washers between the radiators and frame to space out the radiators just to reduce pressure on the module/radiators.
Now I aslo have 2.5 volts from the power jet loom to power an LED headlight.
