When those of you who did the Gen 3 125....how much of a bitch was it to remove the mounts? Heres how far Ive ground down the welds..whatta ya think?
And yes I know Ive still got to ground out the welds on the inside of the mounts...
Gen 3 125 question
I can only assume you are wanting to use those mounts on the conversion.
Fair enough - very nice things. And very strong, if they are in good nick.
Unless you're trying to keep the tubes surface untrenched, just cut into the welds fully. So you don't damage the mounts, 'knocking' them off.
You can't use the cradle, unless you butcher the hell out of it.
It's much nicer , easier, and far, far stronger, to make a full, new cradle.
$25 / $35 of New, clean, strong tubing, with , roughly an 80 degree bend. Perhaps tighter, with a 125 frame - others who have done one here will know, I've kept to 250 2t, and 450 4t Chassis conversions.
