Crackers bike, not mine. I told him to buy a Gen 4 frame, and do the first Gen 3 conversion with a Gen 4 "Y"..... he declined.

Thats my bike, in a early mockup to check out the geometry with some Home Depot tubing.... whats your point?

personaly, i dont give a shit what yall think of my "cobbed mess", i did it the hard way yes, it was a challenge... not redoing what was already there. AND its not even done, soyou have no idea what its to look like. Oh, and aliso, your 250x build, you may like some of the stuff im doing, im almost done with my bike- including my gas tank mods, and i only lost about 3 square inches of volume, an inconspicous reserve tank, some hard pipes for early engine coolant lines.....aluminum not copper elbows.... maybe your just workingtoo hard dude

"3 square inches" is a 2 dimensional measurement

Volume is a 3 dimensional measurement.

Hahhaahaha I love this site. If you post pics people will critique it. It's human nature. I like the frankenstein look but I can also appreciate the oem style. Let me be the first to say my Franken fucked frame broke, and I had to redo the frame with an all new oem y and new rails, costing me more money. Just my 2 cents.

alright guys, the input is cool, yes a mistake on my part 'cubic' not 'square' aliso. my "sheet y " isnt sheet, its 1/8" 6061 t6. sorry your frame broke, if it was butt welded it doesnt surprise me. my frame is fully penetrated bevel weld and gusseted accordingly. i mean not to be boastfull, but i build 200mph NHRA, IHRA, and ADRL drag racing chassis. also if the filler rod wasnt correct it couldve caused cracking

nothing wrong with doing it your own way

FYI cradle tube is $75 to your door for 20' that mimics the honda stuff to a T. can do atleast 2 bikes with that much

It is what it is. I'm just letting you know what went On with my bike. Does your bike look like it will hold? I have no fucking clue, I couldn't weld if my life depended on it. I just know that if I rode my heaping pile of shit I would of had a total frame failure.

It's always good to see different ideas and find out how it works, keep up on your project and updates.

You will get all kinds of opinions here, that's what makes this site different, some will hate it some will love it, in the end it's only how you feel about it that counts.

Doing the cradle replacement is easier than it looks- we did one with a harbor freight tubing bender and a hot plate and it looks great.
