I have crossed tot he dark side

Post by Mik329 »

So I've had a serious itch to ride and not enough time to progress my current build. I bought an 07 CRF450 last weekend just to get my ass to the track. It's in decent shape but I just cant stand the sound of the damn thing.....

Well on the positive side...you got a good starting point for your next conversion! The trick will be if you can keep it running without blowing the hell up to sell off the motor while its still worth something.

If the 4 stroke is bothering your ears get some cheap shooting ear muffs, take the foam out and stick where year ears go... it helps a lot.

i hate the sound of those, and its hard to tell how fast its turning, same lame sound from 3000-9000 if your under heavy load
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

I got it pretty cheap. Laced up a set of wheels for it yesterday because the rims were a mess. I should probably take the top end off and check it but I'm not going to. If it blows I guess I will put a proper sounding engine in it but I hope to get some riding done first.
