'84 Piston

Post by 490SS »

Hi guys, sorry about the dumb question, but this is an OEM piston, correct?

The only marking I could find is "ART" in the inside:

I got this together with the matching cylinder as a spare and I want to use it. Ring gap measures .028", so I need to order new rings. The rest looks really good, except:

Looks like it ate a reed? No sign of damage on the cylinder wall, will this be safe to use? It appears it ran this way.

Thanks!

Looks like an 89.50 OEM piston to me. I probably wouldn't run it.

Is that a crack in the skirt on the intake side just to the right of center?

Thanks.

No crack at all, just a scratch.
