I've been running this on the CR500 for a while now:

Works quite well. I can actually see at what speed I leave my buddies behind at.

What you will need is a Garmin 60 CSX. I use one on my 650L and my CR500. It will tell you your
current speed,
average speed
time stopped
fastest speed
moving time
E.T.A
elevation
temperature
tun by turn directions
It also marks a bread crumb trail as you ride that is stored in your GPS. so you can track back. or save on your computer.
But what I like about it most is that when I want to ride Some where I have never been, I can google search for GPS. tracks in the area. Download the tracks and go ride. I don't have to follow anyone, I can ride as fast or as slow as I want, just follow the line.
Here is some links to a GPS threads wiht some info.

Ironically (to me) I am currently searching for a viable way to adapt my Garmin Nuvi for my CR500. I see the bicycle handlebar mounts are available. but IDK if I trust it.Hammer wrote:What you will need is a Garmin 60 CSX....

Something I forgot mention is to get a hard wire kit for your GPS.MrPickle wrote:I agree with Hammer, just pony up for a GPS unit and a RAM mount. This will fit all of your needs. Get a good GPS and you can lead the rides or a crappy one will fill your trip/speed/dist info. Let me know if you need some suggestions.
The batteries vibrate and don't always get a good connection, and by using the back light during the day you can see the screen much better.
I use the Ram mount with a Zip Tie, to secure the GPS. It is also a good idea to use a screen saver. I broke and bent a few things on my bike in this crash,(first time on the trail, I missed a turn, and went over the bars.) but my GPS. survived.

Not to mention he needs to hit the moto track once a week for about a year. That ought to shed the gay image. Only then will he be ready.lewisclan wrote:Well then you better plan on putting some coin into that stock bike. a stock 650r sucks ass, that KTM will eat your bike up
Course my asshole has an Opinion. What is learned out on the track can translate to a life saved out on the road.
