Christmas/New Years Week at Spangler Hills

Post by AngryShawn »

I'm heading to Spangler Hills with my family right after Christmas, arriving Dec 27 in the PM staying until Jan 2, and would love to meet up with folks doing the same, and invite anyone thinking of making the trip to join/camp with us. This is our first time to Spangler and we're planning on camping at the wagon wheel/charlie's place.
Our group includes riders of all ages/skill levels (me, my wife, my parents and hopefully a couple regular riding buddies) as well as our dogs and baby daughter.
The first couple days will be more mellow rides with my wife and folks (pinnacles, burro schmidt tunnel, husky, etc...) and at least one long ride thanks to Digby from SBR:

We'll probably run that loop on Jan 31 and do it counterclockwise based on reports from that ride.
I've got the FOJ map as well as info and tracks from several forums, but any other suggestions or guidance would be most appreciated for both easy and more challenging routes to make sure everyone in our group has a good time.
Here is our rig:

My folks have a big 5th wheel WW hauler and white chevy dually pickup.
We'll be flying a 'don't tread on me' flag as well as the stars and stripes.
Looking forward to a fun week of riding!
Cheers
Shawn

Nice! I am trying to make it to Fremont Peak this year. A ride to Burro Schmidt Tunnel and Husky is our norm too!
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...

Think I rode that trail at 2:44, the one with the reindeer cutouts at the top?
