Its Dual-Sport time!
Its Dual-Sport time!
Everyone seems to have them... Solid, Pecker, Lewis, Stiles, Mad dog... I guess its time I join them.
Going to pick this up on Friday... 2001 XR650R.... It seems the weapon of choice.
I was goig to go cheap, and get the "L" version. Air cooled also looked appealing, I have a tendancy to poke holes in my radiators from time to time. Solid said if I got the "L", I couldnt ride with him due to the dork factor... It does look odd, like the fuel tank was a total afterthought.
I'm supposed to pick it up Friday, so anyone looking to go Dual-Sporting, post up a ride, I already have my first one planned out!!!
F-Ya!!!

My ride is almost finished.
A $159.00 2002 xr650r frame. $212.00 shipped from Navada with a bill of sale
$189.00 dual sport lighting kit from Cycle works USA
and a bunch of time swapping stuff over.
Next down to the CHP for a vin verification than off to the DMV for my plates.
Fingers crossed and I'm on the road.

A friend of mine is setting up a ride Tues/wed after Christmas. Were going to meet somewhere around Interstate 40 and the 15 ride to the Avi resort and casino near Laughlin Nv.
I hear the rooms are $20.00 a night.
We will stay the night and return to our departure site the next day. We have one chase van with my 26' trailer just in case you whimp out.
Or your like Brit and have a habit of shedding parts.
Anyone interested call boB.
