Well the latest on my cylinder is Calvin from CPI is going to replace it with a new revised casting.

There was issues with the intake area not having material in the area of the piston pins while at BDC. I kind of expected that my cylinder would have problems with this since I am +6mm stroked but even with the stock stroke there is issues.

Normally on a extra long stroked crank like mine welding is mandatory on the bottom of the exhaust port to keep the exhaust closed at TDC and top of the intake port is welded to add material for support of the ring ends at BDC

So CP Industries is recasting all the Ligers and offered me a free replacement so I decided to go with the new cylinder and new piston style that has been just released for the CR500 based Ligers.

Just thought I would keep those interested updated the rest that don't care fine but leave your off topics off this thread!

nice.
do you have to mill the cases different?
will it close that intake floor and not use the plate?

You still run the base plate because the front cyinder studs are moved far forward outside the case flange area.

The cases do not have to be decked but will need to be relieved for the larger O.D. of the cylinder skirts.

Mine will now be relieved down ward more than is needed because we had cut 5mm from the bottom of the cylinder but not the skirt length.

With the new piston cutting the bottom of the cylinder or case will not be needed.

The only advantage of my present cylinder mockup is I would have higher crankcase compression due to the 5mm removed from the bottom of the cylinder.
