thats the age you have to start at if you want to ever get anywhere profesionally. kids his age on those 65's and the 10 year olds on the 80's freakin haul ASS on an MX track hitting 100 foot jumps no problem. So, i dont really see this as out of line. although it is dangerous as fuck.
