Dude, DO NOT sell the 500! you will hate the loss of power! I have the same condition, and trust me, i know how much it fuckin sucks! It is the entire reason that I am now a fitness junkie! I got it when I was 20 and have been dealing with it for almost 10 years now. I will tell you this though, the...

I thought about that but I wasn't sure if it would vibrate loose over time and fall in have the motor eat it. The reed cage should stop it but im just a lil nervous about it.

125 vs 250

First off, yes I have searched the af build threads. I have read so much that I often read something and have trouble finding which article it is in when I go back to re-read stuff. I plan on getting started with a gen 3, 125 or 250 frame and plan on doing it Aussie style. So since the main reason p...

Hole drilled in the jug?

I ended up buying a motor last night for an AF conversion. it is a 98 and I pulled the head, and there is still fresh cross hatching and the piston looked pretty new. my only concern with the jug is that there is a hole drilled and tapped on the jug right by the "491cm3" where the reeds go...

500 spark is always weak... Have you done a compression test? yes I have, a while ago. i did it on all 4 of my bike at the same time so I am not positive what it was reading, but I wanna say it was like 186. I know that both of my 500's were good. Im not to concered about the weak spark visually, m...

Re: this makes no sense.

I have never thought of that. now you mention it i have had a few bikes where the piston just decided to turn itself backwards before. You said it has ran like shit since the day you bought it. There isnt much else to make a CR500 run like shit ( besides Clyde's tuning) except having the piston in ...

this makes no sense.

lets see if any of you hoons on here have an answer for this.... My 91 has always had a very weak spark. It's my first 500 and I was pretty disappointed with the bike and wanted to sell it because I thought it was way overrated. So it just sat in the garage and I stuck to my 250. I rode another 500 ...
