So you should be good with a 250 set up, 40 watt units are easy to find and no work to install.

Curious how you figure adding weight to a 250 FW installed on a 500 would be harmful. It's not like it's going back to a 500 FW.

I posted this a year or so ago here as well, I don't know of anyone else that has done it.

I have a couple new stators that have 40 watts they put out. Not sure what they would do if they were rewound.

I rebuilt my 2000 CR250 2 years ago after the tab on the plug fell off on a 10 hour motor. bad day. Luckily it just trashed the head and a light hone cleaned the jug right up. New piston/rings/head, 210 PSI before I started it. 63 semi hard hours later I'm at 218 PSI same tester.

The motor isn't stock, just a ignition isn't the whole story.

I have a mint 93, totally restored by a mate of mine. Once he finished it he realized it was too much for him and it sat in his garage for quite a whille. He got hard up for cash and sold it to me. I was going to chop it for the motor but I have plenty of extras so I left it whole. Did one lap on my...

Dogger, you were explaining some fancy physics stuff about the angle that the piston is in affecting things, It was over my head so maybe you can break it down slightly agian. I was under the impression is was considerable different than lower CG. Bob I'm all ears on your AF wisdom. I'll try to find...

CS position affects rear suspension performance. Dogger315 was schooling me last week about the angle the motor is clocked, specifically the angle the piston travels up and down at and the resulting gyroscoping affect on handling.

IMO how the motor is clocked is the most overlooked aspect of AF.

I'm good, just curious, Last I knew you were a gen 2 man. I've met very few people that can ride a gen 2 to it's potential.

I have a gen 4 roller I'm doing up. It will be sold ready for a 500 and have a title.

Mine with new top end on a 2000 motor with stock head turned 165 before it was ever started. I kick it hard a few times untill the pressure gauge stops going up.

If you have a buddy that has a tester it will prolly read a different # than the 135 you got.

Gen 2 rails are retangular, gen 3,4 rails are square, gen 5 funny shaped.

The front mounts by the pipe would be the main difference over a normal CR500 conversion. The lower mounts interchange from a 01 CR250 motor bolt pattern and a CR5 pattern. CS position not taken into account.
