I'd bite the bullet and tear it down, if those flakes made it into your bearing then I think you're going to have another rebuild in your future which may include a new crank.

Why do you have to F with the olds guys? :( Now my heart bleeds for the old days. :x When I first went to Glamis I knew a guy that had an old water pumper rail like that where the bench seat was over the rear end. Then I remember my first few trip s to Pismo in early 80's, could ride all the way to...

Without an overflow all CR5's will puke coolant untill it settles out a few mm's over the rad core, filling the rads is pointless as it'll just spit it out untill it barely covers the core. With an overflow the rad will stay full to the cap. Any suggestions on an overflow bottle, where to mount ect.?

along time ago I worked in a race shop, my memory is not what it used to be. Alcahol is 124 octane, this allows you to run a much higher compression, take advantage of that. the reason you use 2 times as much Al to Gas is not that you are burning 2 times as much, the cooling effect of Al is because ...

How do the scallips effect a compression check? don't they act like a compression release at slow kick start speeds and then don't play as much a role in the higher rpms? if two equal motors, in port timing and calculated compression, what would the measured difference be between a scalliped motor a...

I haven't seen one of the ES setups on a 2 stroke, where would you fit the starter motor? would have to go in front of the motor under the exhaust?

I would think that you're going to need a comp release with the ES, I would start there and see how much easier that makes it to kick.
