I understand how freaking heavy the terraflex is, but it's the only one that's DOT approved for road use and will definitely outlast the others.

Just throwin that out there for your info

Took the bike out for a ride today with mixed road/trail/fire roads and I have a couple questions: How can I make the cruising speeds smoother? When you're off the pipe (out of the power band) it's still a bit choppy/jerky even with the flywheel weight. Are there other tricks I can employ to smooth ...

careful about the shorai, out of 8 people i know none of theirs has made 6 months without crapping out Noted. I'll keep track of use/time. How were they using theirs? Mine will likely be drained to nothing and then charged using a trickle charger. Hmm, Shorai sells a specific charger for their batt...

You can also see in the pics that I went to a 50/50 tire. I have used these before on a DRZ400. Good on-road manners and doesn't feel like a streetbike tire off-road.

I'm assuming that graph is for a 450 4-stroke? If we're going by the blue line, then cutting out at 9K works great! The red line would be losing about 5hp though :(

I could probably make some money selling detuned 450's with 1-year warranties...

Ok. I'm putting many hours on my CR500 "race" engine without failure. More than the manual recommends.

Would a CRF450 motor last longer if the rev limiter was lowered to about 9,000-10,000rpms?

4-stroke motor improvment?

I was just thinking: Do you suppose that 4-stroke race motors will keep improving to the point that they will be as durable as, an XR400?

Was thinking of getting that for my younger brothers. Although they seem to do alright with either a card in the spokes, or a crushed can/bottle on the tire. The crushed 20oz soda bottle sounds almost like formula-1 when you get moving.

Not much to update. I put the 15oz flywheel weight on. That made a monster difference in how the bike runs "off the pipe" when you're just putting along at 30-40mph; No more jerkiness. I'm also thinking about lowering the compression to further offset pumping losses. Maybe a second head ga...

I've called Baja Designs. They were nice enough to answer all my questions. Eline in MA was the company making the billet housings for them. I've called Kevin at Eline in MA; he beat around the bush telling me I need an $8,000 machine to make the parts and that he sold his machine, and they never us...

I'm asking you if I can borrow the housing, so that I can take dimensions of it and draw it in Solidworks. I don't need all the pieces, just the housing.

How would you trust me to give it back? I dunno. I'll give you whatever you think is appropriate collateral within reason.

http://www.bikeexif.com/honda-cr500 Street legal, but I wouldn't believe everything that article spews. I doubt the lighting coil is "custom" for the 30 watts it puts out. I think ProCom hosed them for an ElectroSport coil. http://www.procomeng.com https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto...
