And thus you illustrate my point...

Why do you think I bought a 500? Best of both worlds of course! Low tinker quotient, high fun quotient! XR650 = low tinker as well, but fun quotient is just not there.

Besides, I'm too much of a wuss to ride a big bad 650. :P

I don't even bother to look at used unless it looks like a great deal before I see it.

I don't like messing with stuff unless I have to. I have more important things to do.

I know my name's not Bob, but I am VERY happy with my Magura Jack. It may be a waste of money to most riders, but with as much as I have to work the clutch riding where I do, it has been a huge benefit. My clutch hand does not give out anymore. Significantly decreased pull. Smooth action. Like butta...

It all depends on the kid. Some are fearless, others... Mine gave it a shot at age 7 on an XR70. He wasn't quite ready. It may have been different if he was on a 50. The bike scared him, I think. He tried again when he was 8 (at his own request) and has been gung ho since. The important thing is to ...

Stinky, take the man riding! I'm stuck in Spokane for a couple weeks.

If you watch as I pass Tim (XR650) where he pulls off, you can kind of see by the angle he's holding his bike that it's really not flat.

That, and the funny angle the trees seem to be growing at. Then there's the groaning CR500 motor. ;)

That's great forest, and that video camera is so cool, I should get one. As for that hill, my 4x4 quad woulda rode up that half way, parked, and continued without any effort. And that's with a beer in my left hand, and only a pair of flip flops on. Thank god you didn't mention being naked at ...

I think that's actually the sound of my frame and footpegs scraping the dirt.

Or my chain rattling...

Or my back tire hitting my PMB...

Or my front tire hitting the fender bolts...

Or my suspension bottoming out...

Or all of the above.

There's an interesting story there... The XR70 I bought for Justin when he was still a bit short. To compensate and make it rideable for him while he was learning, I went to the hardware store and bought a turnbuckle. I replaced the rear shock with it and adjusted the height as he grew and got more ...
