Correct me if I am wrong but rotating the stator counter-clockwise would make it fire later in relation to the flywheel position, therefore retarding the timing. Turning it clockwise or agaist the rotation would trigger sooner. correct. jbaze had it backwards  eyesky it wasnt meant to be a hal...

Just looking for a straight answer on the timing... Had 90 days of with snow on the ground with sub freezing weather and now that the thaw is here; I really hate to take it out improperly set and burn the bitch up. Been told everything from 10 degrees retarded to 10 degrees advanced.

Nothing? All the 250 praise, but no tuning notes? What about direction, is turning the plate counter clockwise retarding and clockwise advancing? if your standing on the left side of the bike looking at the flywheel, it spins counterclockwise. im sure you can figure out the rest  NICE, you tak...

CR250 Ignition Timing

Post up your results as goes stator timing using the CR250 ignitions. List year, if advanced, retarded, in the middle or had to slot stator plate to go further in either direction. Seems to be a lot of different thoughts / experiences going around.

Now that we have the curves, lest see some post showing where people are setting thier timing with the 250 ignitions :?: Heard a few different opinions, dead center, retarded 10 degrees, 2 strokes need to be advanced and so on.

ASV Lever trade

I run a set of BLACK ASV levers, short brake side and long CR style clutch side. Any one hate the shorties and wanna trade my long for a short. Just the black lever end, you keep all hardware, perch and bolts. That part will mount to any of the hardware, brake, clutch, 2 or 4 stroke. Short levers on...

Re: Started on the build

Question 1 - there is no way in hell the 500 or a 2001 CR250 air boot will fit in this frame. Is the correct air boot for this conversion a 1998 CR 250? Question 2 - larger tank question, which one (IMS Clarke or Acerbis), I guess which one is the easiest to modify? Question 3 - CDI location - woul...

I would love a set... But, how are they compared to stock size/width/depth wise? My rear brake just clears the clutch cover and the shifter does leave a little rub mark on the ignition cover!
