Yes that is a factory weld, however I believe the shit headstay design does not brace enough and causes additional stress here.. Youn are correct. There are many othes on here with the same damage and tghat shit headstay design. Unfortunatley many home builds without any research end up copying his...

20mm offset triple clamps, and pipe to tire clearance?

Does the front tire clear your pipe with 20mm offset triples? gen 3 250 2stroke chasis? gen 4 CRF250 chasis? Post up for the others chasis too if you wish. The 250 2 stroke chasis utilizes the stock bottom motor mounts, so those should have pretty standard engine angles, However the 4 stroke chasis ...

for the CRF250, and CR250 chasis, just buy CR125 swingarm rebuild kit, and you will have the right bushings in it! :!:

I have a 2002 CR25 and 2002 CRF450 in the garage, stripped.
The 450 is a bigger frame, the tank is about 2 inches longer.

CR250 2 stroke frame is easiest to convert

with all due respect for Eric Gore, he also liked less compression than stock motor,
That was the part I really didn't like about his motor

That pipe looks allot like a stocker.... skinny rev pipe

I am thinking the 450 Junk frame I have is an MPS frame.
same headstay, and the same overheated welds.
blobulous maximus

Look at the stock lower frame pad and how bad it was burned down from the new mount on the left rail....

shit indeed

1985-88 HF1 / ML3 Cyl head(s) , 2002 +AF swingarm wanted

Head must be mint, not milled, not machined, no craters in the chamber from debris.

LMK what you have. Pictures of the combustion chamber /dome would be better.

Arm must be in decent shape, no deep gouges, or major damage.

Thanks,
Lyle

I have swapped brake components back and forth, from 05 and older and never noticed much change in their operation. You can do it without fear. I have found old stock brake lines do get soft, and lose brake feel and power, along with bi-annual fluid changes and sintered HH+ pads, the power has come ...

here are some pics of a big end rod failure. I bought this bottom end like this. I had never seen one like it before, I would imagine the rod brg was so worn out the rod journal ovaled and broke? or else it sucked in water and hydrolocked, cracking the rod, and it came apart the next time it saw rev...

I'm still really intruiged by the CPI or RPM Liger kit.
that would be kick ass!
I noticed their cone pipe welding is pretty ugly though...

Gonna see what develops, the problem will likely be the tire...
what tire is gonna hold that much power, maybe? an MF44? haha
