after trying to ride the 500 on a very slick track this weekend and having no fun trying to keep the rear end in place, i have decided to rebuild my 450. i think the rebuild may come out cheaper than i was initially thinking as well. however, i am dead set on building a 500AF. i am going to be on th...

the "free" welding would be through a large welding and fabrication shop that we use at work. i am confident in their Aluminum welding, I have had them do a few things for me in the past and was happy with the result.

$1K for the frame work? that seems a bit steep to me. :aholebadge: I like how some guys have no skils to do it themselves, so they expect someone else to do it for free. What do you consider reasonable? $200? x 491 Oh come on, I don't think I deserve that. If it was something that no one has...

$1K for the frame work? that seems a bit steep to me. is that generally what it costs if i send the frame to someone? P.S. I just talked to my dad and ran my plan by him, all he said was "sounds expensive". well so does rebuilding the engine thats already in the bike. Assuming I get around...

you guys are probably right about having someone else do the frame for me.

as far as finding an engine, i would probably just buy a whole new bike and try and sell the roller, i would also sell my 450 engine and exhaust to try and get some cash back.

thinking about doing a 2002 CRF450 AF conversion

Alright guys, I have a bit of a problem and need some advice. I own a 2002 CRF450 and a 1998 CR500 that i just rebuilt about 2 years ago. I currently live in San Diego (college) and have the CR with me while the 450 resides in nor cal. I LOVE both bikes. However, the 450 needs a complete engine rebu...

Get it revalved and it will be wonderful. I hated the suspension on my 1998 and I got it revalved and resprung by Blonix and now it handles and rides just as good, if not better than my 2002 crf450

i think they were going for sort of a rat bike theme with that first bike. i think its pretty cool except for the fake tank being fake.

i haven't found a place where you can go buy a skattrack. i heard you have to send them a worn out tire first.

huge heavy 10 paddle or slim 8 paddle?

Im having a hell of a time getting a good paddle tire for my 500. i found and 18" 10 cup but the thing is HUGE and hits my linkage and swing arm. not to mention how heavy it is. is trying to run an 8 paddle a waste of time on the 500? should i stick with what i have or should i try a smaller 8 ...
