vin confusion

Soo I picked up this bike, guy says its a 97 125. VIN 10th digit is V which is 97. 97 125 was steel. This is an aluminium frame. Could someone have put a 125 in a 250 frame? Anyone have a manual that could check these numbers for a fellow HOON? Or could it have been made in 97 as a 98 model?

Just found a 97 125 for a song. Is this a suitable frame to convert? Seems all the other Gen 1 's are 250.

Haven't got to ride yet :cry: waiting on some swingarm bushings from the machinist. Cant wait to let her RIP. But after riding it as a ATC, dont think it will be to hard to adjust.

Got 86 atc forks :? new seals and wipers and oil, Is there any adjustment other than a couple lbs. of air? Any help would be :D Got a brand new OHLINS rear linkless and need to somehow get the forks a little more up to par.

Travis, I live minutes from Milford. Have not weighed it yet, I will . Hoofarted, I do have a axle old RAD. Have complete rearend. Built this bike to be able to convert back to ATC in no time!

I do have a brake, that pic is 2 weeks old. I would turn the forks around , but then I'd lose some clearance and strech the front out. I also tried it out as this was my ATC500.
