I understand that, but I would think the loss of inertia makes it harder to get past the compression.

From what I have been reading about CR250 ignitions lately, maybe it is the lighter flywheel weight of the 250 that is making it hard to start.

I was thinking the same thing. Lean the gas out some or go to a 69 needle.

One of the reasons for the twenty inch tire that Honda used was the fact that it had more tire wall and made the suspenision more plush to help out with the 2nd generation frame being stiff, even though it was tons better than the 1st gen frame. It was what MXA said any ways. I bought into it on my ...

Thanks Glen. I am wanting to do the trail port on my next rebuild. Do you have stock cylinders or do I need to buy one and send it to you? My cylinder has Gore work and would need to start over. I am happy with the Gore porting, but I feel there is more in there.

Blusmbl, no tomatoes here, but some types of porting can make your bike easier and faster to ride on the trails, like my Gore port work as stated above. I just do not know if you can get it with pump gas.

I asked for an Eric Gore cylinder with all around porting to run on pump gas when I got my SH 500AF, but Randy said it might need race gas. It does ping on pump gas at 1/4 throttle only when the revs build. I now use a 50/50 mix with great results. I am wondering if Gore went all out on it or tried ...

I remember what it is now, it is the fact that there is a 25 dollar minimum per order. Next time I will mention the site and I bet he will go less than the minimum no problom.

A couple of months ago, Sudco made me buy at least 5 needles. The 1370 needle is indeed a CGL. It was too lean for me so I went to a richer CGK (1369) and have since been real happy with the DGK (1469). I did go to a 52 pilot from a 55 after the swtich to the DGK needle. That is real crisp for me. I...

Set cost aside for a moment and think about what kind of gains there might be. The F1 guys along with road race teams use these bearings for a reason. I know we do not turn near the RPM's they do, but I still wonder if there are benefits. You are right about over rev, I just wonder if it will rev ju...

From what I hear, the ceramic bearings have less resistance. If a CR500 engine has the main and tranny bearings in ceramic, wouldn't you notice an increase in performance? Maybe more power, throttle response, and over rev? I would be interested in hearing the results on a CR500 outfitted with cerami...

I had 2001, 2002 and 2003 CR250R's and they did not have the power jet carbs. The 04 CR250R that my friend just bought I beleive does have the jet.

So basicly you can get a 2007 CR250R complete ignition system and install on a 2001 CR500R engine and it will have noticeable gains? Is it that easy? What about the stock 500 flywheel?

Another rider

Hey everybody. I got my 500 in november of 07 and I wish I had more time to ride it. I am now working out the jetting and have already gone through everything making sure everything is greased well. I love this site and all the info that I have learned. It seems that are a lot of us out there!
