Thats not necessarily true. If you are going to take the time to build one do a good one that you will keep.

The gen 1 is OK but by the time you update it to make it better you could of had a gen 3 250.

The best cylinders I have ridden are ones that are only slightly ported by someone who knows what they are doing. Somebody who knows how to slightky adjust the air flow scavaging to where the fuel loop is more efficient with out changing the port timing hardly at all will make the bike easier to rid...

While I think a KTM 550 motor would be really cool, I've already got my CR500 (almost) ready to rock. I see crf 450 that have titles all the time and I have one , I can tell you for road riding a gen3 CRf 450 chasses is real roomy and comfy. Much more so than the Cr 250 or gen 4 CRF. If you are going to do a KTM maybe you should hunt down a KTM 550 motor. I like KTM chassis because you can get a title easy other than that the CR chasses is totally superior.

The chassis is definitely slower reacting than your 2006.

If calvin would finish the saber it is a better value than that. The 560 kit should produce a good bit more torque but HP Is ?able. If you are 6'4 for you it is the best bike and a 500 works best in open blasting riding and the CRF 450 gen 3 is superior to a CR 250 gen 3 in high speed blasting.
