2001 CR250R

Not running: needs a new piston- or a CR500 heart transplant ;) Aside from that its really nice. Everything functions properly; brakes work and have plenty of life, ...

I've got some goodies left over from an AF swap. :D Everything is listed on eBay as buy it now/best offer - I've listed the items for sale and the eBay item numbers below. Too much stuff to post pics of everything here, but high-res pics of everything for sale can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/v...

I ended up checking ronayers micro fiche. The part numbers are the same for all years for the C2 bushing. Service manual is wrong on the O.D. Also, they have listed the I.D. as larger than the O.D. Besides that, if you look at the tolerances listed for gear I.D., shaft O.D. and clearances you see th...

Urgent: need spec for C2 bushing outer diameter
Hi guys. I've got a 94 cr500 and I'm rebuilding the bottom end now. Was checking all my gear and shaft diameters per service manual, and I found a big discrepancy. I'm measuring 1.1807 on the C2 bushing od. I checked this against our super mics for calibration and am 100% confident in this reading. ...

Got the cases split. Ultrasonic cleaned all the insides. I tumbled my shift fork rods with some 2mm porcelain balls to improve microfinish, and I cosmetically reconditioned some misc. parts with glass bead and/or zirblast. Cylinder is getting bored/honed now and new piston to match. I still need to ...

I've been using imageshack.us since about 2005, and I've never seen a broken image link. In fact, all my photos I've ever uploaded are still available and links still work. I've never used photobucket - I've seen lots of broken photobucket links - but, to be fair, these could be for any number of re...

Thanks Bob and Roostius. So are you saying that crank case half with the cracks may be serviceable? If so, that is awesome! I am doing a full bottom end tear down also. All parts are going to be inspected to ensure compliance with service limits, and I'll replace what I need to. I was planning on te...

Lurker coming out
Hi guys, Been lurking awhile - reading up and prepping for a build. I'm building a beercan supermoto from a 94 CR500 and 04 CRF250R. Going for street legal ;) Just got started on this project. Plan on re-conditioning just about everything. I want the finished product to be on par with new OEM, so we...

First time engine tear down - veteran eyes appreciated
So I'm building a beer can, and I started tearing down my engine yesterday. I've never done any engine work, so any veteran advice would be appreciated. Was super pumped to get the cylinder off today; way less pumped once I did. Anyways, here's what I found (all pics are as found, no cleanup). Not s...
