Just got my af together. I bought new ported cases from roosty and switched to the newer clutch cover. Water pump isn't all corroded out, it isn't mint either. The rear outlet has been modified (although not very well, I've switched shops to get my welding done) to route the hose different. But only...

So if i run the newer cases would I be better off using the newer cylinder too?

Ok, thats what I was afraid of. So my only options are to buy both new cases or find a used 86 R side then. I really wish I had waited and found a better donor bike. This one is nickel and diming me to death. At least it will be all new when Im done.

So Ive got and 86 motor in my 06 CRF and Im putting the newer R side case and cover on it. The cover to get my water pump outlets to not share the same space as my pipe, and the R case because its cracked right at the kickstart support and my dealer says the 86 case is discontued. Heres the question...

Ok thanks guys. Ive got that hose on order as well as a bunch of other parts. Im assuming i need the 90+ intake from the reed cage to carb because the one i have is pointing the carb into the shock. I modded the tank yesterday and got it fitting. Does anybody know the part number for the 450 outlets...

Okay thanks. I went to both parts stores in town yesterday and came up empty. But i think i might be able to get it to work with a two piece hose. You have any more information on that hose? Well i was having trouble with the coolant hose to the back of the head. There is no way I could route it to fit. But Im just gonna have to swap to the newer style one where the outlet is straight up. Only problem is Honda is backordered until the middle of september, and I cant seem to locate a use...

OK thanks. Ill look tonight and see how well that will work. Id like to actually find a formed hose to make that bend, but ill see what I can come up with.

Ran into a couple snags today. I got the bushings machined out. Picked up my PC pipe last week. With the motor sitting in the frame there is no way the pipe will go on. What is everyone else using for different case bushings for the rear mount with an early motor? I kind of remember reading it somewhere but I cant seem to find it again.

It did ok. First time there though, most of the other guys were on 250s as well, one big bore yz250f, and a ktm300. It definately spurred on my desire for more power, especially after the valves tightened up down there and it refused to start.
