Just finished 87 resto. Went for first real shake down run sunday and the longer I rode the stiffer the clutch lever got. Looked in manual to find proper routing of cable and I did have it wrong. Once the cable was unhooked it seamed to move smoothly. Checked the new asv lever it to was nice and smo...

Anyone ever use Moto Pro?

Looking to rebuild and revalve my rear shock on the old 87. I have it all apart right now and if I could get the parts I think I could do it myself. But my knowledge is limited and would need a kit of some sort. Anyone have any experience with these guys or recomed anyone or where?

I could use that swingarm for a 87-88. Is that rear caliper and bracket from the same bike could use them also? My zip is 85242 let me know what you want for them.

swingarm questions

My 87 is in the process of being revived. The swingarm is trashed. It's still useable but looks like hell. The caliper and bracket however are trashed. I have been looking around and I can get a newer swingarm, caliper, and bracket for the same price as a new caliper assembly if it's even still aval...

89 swingarm on a 87?

Will it work with out frame modification? What will I need from the 89 other than caliper holder and swingarm? The reason I want to do this is I want to supermoto my 87 and finding rims and other pieces to the puzzle seams hopeless. Everything apears to be for 89 and newer.

I dont think the pump impeller is any different. I think the only difference is the area where the hoses attach. But since I have nothing to compare it to except pictures I cant be positive on that.

new style side cover old style jug

I guess the real question is what's the difference other than water inlet location on the jug and inlet outlet locations on the pump? My motor came out of a 87 and the jug has a rear water inlet. But my side cover has the water inlet and outlet of a newer model. It ran ok before I pulled it apart fo...

Yea Ha a new squirrel with a nut

How is everyone doin? The guys over at Thumper Talk directed me over here. Live in AZ and love to ride. Just got my 87 Cr500 and are in the process of going thru the entire bike. The Case has been split and all new is goin in. The frame underwent total stripping and pretty much so has everything els...
