That gear and corresponding fork will cost me 260 $ here in Sweden  and Honda-parts direct don't seem to ship internationally (they charge 120 $). Any tips of someone who ships overseas?

I split the cases just now and the only worn thing I can find are the dogs pictured below. Shift forks and drum are ok as well. No broken teeth or dogs.
Wierd. Ideas why fifth wouldn't engage?

The other four worked fine the rest of the day so figuring the noise (like brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) it made, it might well have cleared some teeth off the gear. I overhauled the engine last winter with new bearings and all and all gears looked fine then... But I suppose it's not much point speculating. I...

Lost fifth gear. Broken gearbox?

I hooked fifth and heard a strange noise yesterday, was like it wouldn't engage. Permanent neutral in fifth after that but the first four works fine. What's the probable issue you think? What do I need to order for when I split my cases? :) Bent fork? Worn selector drum or a cleared out gear like ot...

Bob your getting soft  those motor mounts look like they are just barely on there. The motor work you did looks tidy and i liked your videos K-man but those motor mounts need some love. According to my engine timer I've run the AFc för seven hours this past summer and all motor mounts are sti...

Another great vid Kman, you have some skills. Thanks for shareing Thanks. Too bad I didn't know at 20 what I know now  A lot of the roadracers have commented on the video about how I passed them all on the brakes. I just tell them they have room for improvement there themselves coz their bike...

I like how you overtake the guy @ 1:58. GREAT video ( and riding or course.... ) Thanks! Once again :) Well, he hit the brakes well before the 100 meter mark. I didn't  That's the very bike I got to try later on and it wasn't very stable under braking like my CR is. It's so controlled b...

Sticking it to the road racers

I went to a two stroke track day and dished out plenty of humble pie to the racers with my CR500 yesterday :D

Post of the Year, K-Man!!! Really? Wow, thanks man! And the rest of you as well! :) :) Yes, he sure had a great ride and is quite funny when expressing his feelings so I felt a mic in the helmet would be priceless. And it was. All the "Fy fan" in the video translates to "God D*mn&quo...

Adding to the CR500 myth. First CR500AFc ride

A friend of mine has lost the lust to ride and sold his sportsbike. I think this is most unforunate and told him to come and try my CR500AFc - Guaranteed fun I prepped my helmet with a GoPro Hero2 and an external mic inside the helmet to hear his impressions first hand. Kinda hilarious :D http://www...

I had an issue with the rear brake mount on my last ride. Waiting for a new one right now, otherwise there would have been more videos and pics here by now.

Josh: I may have felt a little bit of what you're talking about but not so much that it's something that bothers me

I trust my welder with those mounts. If they should crack I know who'll have to do them up again but I assure you that they are well welded. I'm pretty sure they'll hold and that all the super slick machined mounts may have set the bar a bit high  Time will tell The weather is really crap here...

Time to put it all together. The airbox and boot doesn't fit the PJ carb so a CR250 '99 boot was purchased and fitted to the 450 airbox with an aluminium adapter plate. The boot has a tight squeeze between the frame and shock but not so bad that it needed modifying https://bannedcr500riders.com/imag...

Welding the frame was planned for the end of march 2012 and before that I had to strip the roller and cut the Y and mounts http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x283/K-Man75/Motorcyklar/CR500/Buildpics/Y-cut.jpg Fitting of the engine began. The weld at the rear of the lower frame-spar has to be grinded...

CR500AFc converted with CRF450 2002 frame

It all started when I had a GSXR750 '98 I didn't use much and wanted something fun I could ride all year. Inspired by a pic of a SH supermoto I started the following build. I sold the Suzuki and found a CRF450 '02 Supermoto-roller, complete with 17" Excel rims, Brembo brake, TAG-clamps and more...

Hehe, gotcha, nice reply. But that may well render his case useless? I wouldn't want to do that if I wanted to sell the whole case. The bushings seem pretty well fixed. :? I put mine back together with some steel epoxi. We'll see how far that will last, but at least there won't be any play an the ax...

good link but $ 100 incl shipping is more than I was hoping to pay for one little bushing and could probably get one made for less.
Thanks anyway.

a 250 or 125 collar would work also.
How stupid is this?
I bet I can't buy one separately for 250's or 125's either?

Having one made up will be a pain as well. I think I'll just superglue the collar back on then :(
