WTB - 86 CR500 left engine case

I have a friend with an 86 CR500 that just destroyed his Pro X piston and got rid of the pieces out the bottom of the left engine case. If anyone has a case half please let me know. Also are any other year cases compatible with the 86 ? Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks good. How did you match the paint? Gonna ride it or race any AHRMA events? I wanted to reply to this and figured if I put it at the end more people would see it. I found the member who was selling the Flash Red Powder Coat and I wanted to share that with all of you just in case you are lookin...

Ok, I finally got the pictures of the compression release valve in the head. With the shroud off and looking straight at the head you can't even see the valve. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/7666ecc7eddd9563f507aa59312cebed.jpg Sort of tough to get the camera in there but now you can see ...

Thank you for the kind words. This bike has been the most difficult one I have resurrected so far. From everything I read I just decided to skip over the PE carb altogether. The PJ does work great but mine is from a 95 CR500 and pretty worn. The stupid choke / idle adjustment keeps screwing back in ...

I was trying to do a little research on these rods and found a few part numbers but what rods /years are actually the "short" rod engines? With the info I found it would seem the 82-83 CR480's and the 84-86 CR500's have a different rod because they show a different part number. Now I'm won...

I use to run AV gas when I lived up north but it was 100 low lead not 110. I'm not sure what they sell here in North Carolina. I might have to check into it because the Citgo doesn't look like they're coming back.

Sorry it's taken so long to post an update, life just seems to come at me from every direction sometimes. Here is a pic of the nearly finished bike. It turned out pretty good all things considered. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/f1fed229cd8f817c22b082ddf17f6548.jpg After the last ride the...

His caliper reading of 3.5905" was my concern. Either his gauge isn't getting a good reading or someone honed that cylinder way too far over because 3.590" would be like .010" larger than the piston which is way too much clearance. It should be more like 3.585" giving it .005&quo...

Well, that too but something even more important. It's about the only piece of info you get on the parts from the pictures.

Not a bad top end setup you say? Ported cylinder, new Wiseco piston, fresh hone job. There's only one problem, can you see it?

I bought and sold CR480 stuff to a mrsupersport 2 years ago. He seemed wound a little tight at the time. I found his stuff on marks swapmeet. He was critical of a seat I sold him even after I took about 15 pictures at his request. Oh yes the infamous mrsupersport... He over on the Yahoo CR480 site ...

Yeah that is nice. I saw them last week and was wondering if we did a group buy if he would cut us a deal plus we could save a bunch on shipping. Whoever wanted to handle it could just 1st class them out to everyone.

I just found this thread and honestly I never repacked a silencer until I got my 84 CR500. It would have been better if someone just stuck an old shop rag in there compared to what came out. Anyway, my question is how much packing do you put in there? It's got the oval DG silencer on it with the pip...

87 forks on my 84

I have read that the best fork upgrade is to put the 87 CR500 forks on the 84 CR500. My question is will all the other 84 parts (wheel, caliper, triple clamps etc...) bolt up to the 87 forks?
