Found the setup with carb and reeds for $685. Is it really worth it? Roostius, in what way does this change the power delivery on an otherwise stock cr5? I'm looking to upgrade the carb, pipe, and reeds on my newly acquired 97. Figured it is worth asking about while I'm setting it up.

Does this help the low end/off idle power? How much would a setup cost?

Yea, im sure it has been plugless for quite some time. Guess I need to tear it down and put it on ebay, so I can begin gathering conversion parts

paid 125, but he owed me a few hundred, so I figured I have 450 in it. I think thats a good deal.

nice, thats a lot newer than I thought it was. I bought it today, do these things handle pretty well compared to the other gens? I am for sure putting an 87 500 motor in it. Not sure why they were bothering with the 250.

I have a 14,13, front and 48, 53 rear to play with, it currently has, get this, 16-40 :shock: , guy I bought it from had it geared to supermoto or somthing. the 4th and 5th gear helped out my topend pretty well also, guess i can put the stock sprockets back on it, im probly seeing triple digits with 5th toped out, got some good ole watery eyes on it earlier

got it back up and running :D , I used the thinner late model head gasket so combined with the scallop-less cylinder and the 87 style head it is a hard kick. It is considerably harder hitting than the 92 motor that was in it, prolly due to the fact the other was worn out, or the porting on the 87 is...
