hey, i didn't do it on purpose fukn puters at work.... :? My 505 was nice bike, great traction and metered linear power, with decent rip on top, but I like the 5Honey best. I love the roost, wheelies, outright snap, ability to plane on top of sand in 15 feet, ability to float the whoops with out wor...

Considering that KTM has the best head and valvetrain design in current MX bikes these days and the KTM450 only makes ~3 hp more than the jap450's, claiming a 350 would keep up with the 450's was a lofty goal. I just sold my 505xcf 4 months ago to build my next CR500AF because it didn't have the pow...

My JE turbo pistons have a permanent dry film coating on the skirts and a thremal coating on the domes. It looks allot like that, but I am going to guess the pistons pictured have hard anodizing, as they look to be treated even in the wrist pin bores. Are the ring grooves treated too? Hard anodizing...

yeah the black ceramic coating doesn't look good for long, besides its flat and you see a mark evertyplace it was handled, nevermind scratches etc.
I would do the satin myself, just much easier to maintain.

If you are concerned with ring life why the hell would you even consider a single ringer? Thats why I was asking. Is the operarting or reliability halved? Got any answers? any experience? I have never ran a single ring piston before, on anything, so I have no idea what to expect. I wo...

WELL, I think I will stay away from it then. I have heard this before about the mikuni's.
I had hoped a dial a jet would work, but I have no interest in fucking with the carb everyday if i have to go into it.
Thanks,

Flat top piston?

Anybody selling a flat top piston for our 500? The stock piston traps a second range of combustables out near the ring land due to the shape of the piston and combustion chamber. I want to try a flat top piston and custom chamber. Anyone running Dewayne Jones 1 ring wiseco pistons? I am concerned ab...

OK this might save some confusion when stuffing a CR500 into these frames. The Std CRF250 04-09 uses a 49mm on the left and a 59mm on the right, with the CR500 engine get a 54mm for the left side and you are done. The Std CRF450 02-04 uses a 49mm on the left and a 54mm on the right, with the CR500 ...

I agree sounds liek your pilot is finally close enough you can see changes with the air screw.
before you were too far out on the pilot.
In fact all the carb guys will tell you if your airscrew is between 1.5 and 2,5 turns, and it peaked by 3 turns your spot on!
good work

Maybe Danny or anyone else can help me with this, I have a Mikuni TM42 Pro series carb. It has not been installed I am refraining casue I heard the mikuni is very finniky to jet compared to the PWK, and that it will require more attention on a daily basis for jetting, wheras the PWK will run everywh...
